Salto El Limón is no more?

It appears that Salto El Limón has basically dried up and no longer forms part of the guided tours that took tourists there. Several articles and videos have been made about this. Such a big and beautiful waterfall, gone!

This has happened before during dry periods.

I'd have to think once the drought has passed the water would start flowing again.

Unless the govt. constructed a dam further up stream.

Droughts dry up rivers. Perhaps we will have a rainy season again. Time will tell. Things have been very dry in Cabarete for months except a few recent thunderstorms. Sounds like this applies to the entire north coast.

We could do with a few tropical storms coming near us but not too near.

Ton of open farm land just to the southeast.
Diversion of water resources and illegal irrigation
have anything to do with this?

Tropical Storm season is upon us. Things will settle themselves as they always do.

We have visited El Limon 6-8+ times a year for going on 12 years now.

We have seen massive water and we've seen a trickle.

When the rains come...and they will...the water will return.

Samana got a lot of rain recently. The falls are flowing again.
