Airport Arrival for Citizens

Arriving POP y'day, I just went to the first open kiosk....

My first entry as a citizen.

The girl reviewed my credentials -
slammed them shut and directed me to the 'Citizens' kiosk

Only there for entry it seems - all the others are for visitors and residents - apparently

That was my experience - others may have more info

Get fast pass

Sign up for the fast track.
Valid for the time of your passport and auto gates are in STI and SDQ already. Takes less than a minute to use the auto gates and no need to talk to anybody, no filling the white form nor getting a stamp.

Works for arrival and departure.

I don't have a hard copy passport - and may not get one.

I rarely use SDQ and never use STI

Passports are in short supply these days
Too many signing up for the new version

In fact, I hear you may not renew until a few months before expiry - to reduce applications

Strange, when the “government” sees a chance to make money it runs like hell.

Hmm good to know, mine expires next year so I should keep the time frame in mind. I added the auto gate option right when I received my passport, took 10 extra minutes and saved me hours during my travels already.

Not flying out the other airports to often so I would't know if they have the auto gate in POP already, in PUJ they don't but Citizen's line is always empty.

Where are you flying from, maybe I discover better flights than SDQ or 3:00am from Santiago. Lol

I believe to remember you are in in the mountains too, maybe car sharing would work. Lol

Have a great weekend.

Cabrera is where I am ---

No kiosks yet at POP...
I fly from EWR & JFK to POP

Sometimes PHL/SDQ route

I live in PHL in the USA

I bet the citizen line at PUJ is empty.... all visitors

I think 6 mo before expiry is the new rule.... ask about that

Oh wow, 6 month. Hope they still have VIP service for 1,500 RD$, took me only little over an hour last time.
Cabrera, confused you with somebody else then, sorry.

Thanks for the info, will defiantly check that out.

Yes, citizent line in PUJ is always empty arriving, in the departure usually they have it closed but if you ask for a line for citizents they send you to the front. I use the Autogate in SDQ and is very fast, works only with Dominican passport.

About passport renovation if you dont plan to travel you can renew 3 months before expiration, I did online for 10 years, but now most of the countries do not acept passports with less than 6 months of valid expiration at your arrival so after that limit of time anytime you do it is good, but never before the 6 months for expiration because will be rejected.

Another thing for those that do it online the picture size must be as we says half body, if you send it as passport pictures that is smaller the system will reject it, its happened to a friend of mine.

I always used the citizens' line, even when I had temporary residency. Once, it cut my time at the Punta Cana airport by allowing me to pass approximately 200 visitors.
