While I was seated in the Migración half of the Ministries building in Santo Domingo, with my lawyer beside me, a goofy-looking lady greeted my lawyer and me and learned that my lawyer was with me.
My lawyer later mentioned that the goofy-looking lady was a lawyer looking for clients, and she poaches clients from other lawyers in the waiting room and then cheats them by claiming they require more documentation, so she can collect fees.
She went on to explain that she had a Chinese client once who was seated there and while she left to use the ladies' room, the goofy-looking lady poached him from her.
