I was looking at a similar deal on American Airlines on the way over.
All seemed nice until i realised i actually had to buy stuff on credit ( and the extra % it will cost ).
I never buy anything with a credit card------ always with a debit card.

So there is no cost in using a credit card ? How do they make money then ?

It really is a legitimate question as i bought a plane ticket with my amex card once ( i keep a credit card in the case of a dire emergency such as the Zombie Apocalypse ;) ), and i recall paying something like a 4% fee........ but i may be wrong, it was a long time ago.

The merchants that you bought your goods from get charged 2-4.5% per transaction depending on your credit card you used and reward benefits you receive..all off loaded to merchants American Express is most hated by merchants and a lot Don not take this card they on high side charging 4.5% to merchants..

I like the flight transfer options.....but, except for Southwest, they are not airlines I regularly use.

I have a number of cards for various purposes, but my primary card is Jetblue Plus.

40,000 points when you sign up and spend $1,000 in the first 90 days;

6x points on Jetblue flights posted to the card;

2X points at restaurants and grocery stores;

Free checked bag for you and anyone on your reservation using the card as payment;

$99 per year......with 5,000 bonus points on your anniversary date;

If you shop online and go through Jetblue's site...........you can get 2x3x4x the points added to your account;

You can share/pool points with other family members who also have a True Blue miles account.

True Blue Points never expire.....

Best option for me to the DR.

But, to avoid foreign currency transaction fees, I have to use Amex.

And what is APR then ?
Is it only when you pay late ?
Annual Percentage Rate your credit cards yrly interest rate...your credit cards a line of credit with high interest rate if you don’t pay on time they love when people pay minimum payment every month ...

Only if you miss a payment....
ONLY!!!

You might want to clarify.........you need not worry about the APR if you make payment in full as charges come due.

Otherwise you will pay whatever interest rate the card charges on any unpaid balance.

from the people who do not clear their balance in full when due ...and trust me there are enough of those to justify giving others a FREE 55 day loan

Thanks for the heads up....just checked and JetBlue Plus MasterCard has also added a no foreign transaction fee perk.

Run my monthly business expenses on it and pay them off as they come due. Have not paid for a flight/bag fee to the DR (other than taxes) for years now. Best $99.00 card option for my circumstances.
