I forgot to add that, in addition to 2-3 Diet Cokes, I drink 3 cups of coffee a day - with Equal.

Same here. I was at a hotel one time and the vending machine was out of Diet Coke, so I got a regular one. I couldn't drink it. Tasted awful. Threw it in the trash can.

You can add my name to the list of those who are unable to stomach the taste/aftertaste.
Admitedly I never had a weight related issue and so never felt any compunction to fight through the dislike.
While it is not directly related to aspartame...
I was one of those souls who could be blindfolded and easily tell the difference between coke and pepsi. People swore it was impossible. Hah.
    As if.
I once walked out of a local restaurant (Chalet Bar B Q) because they only had pepsi.
    I was a coke a holic.
    Then the funniest thing happened.
About 10 years ago my tastes suddenly changed and I made the switch from coke to pepsi.
    One thing though...
Only coke will make a cuba libre.

Throughout my short life here on planet earth I have been given the Doctors p/orders to go on a dite.
1)Diet for Diabetes 2) diet for kidney stones 3) Diet for high blood pressure 4) Diet for the gout ; 5) overweight 6) Diet for lowering cholesterol 7) diet for gluten free food ; ''' If you know anything about diets you will easily calculate that the only thing left is a tooth pick and a glass of water (and we all know what fish do in water UgggHHH!!)

Stevia does taste like ship ; and someonw will find a reason why it is also very toxic... just a matter of time.

Needless to say, I am on a ''see food diet'' If I see it and like it I will eat it.... made it to 77 and still too stubborn to croak..

Not a fad with me. Mine was severe in both wrists. Had right wrist done and waiting to get the other wrist done. Only side effect is less strength and less articulation in my wrist and reduced sensitivity in my fingers which affects my fine motor skills like guitar playing.

no problems at all with the left hand, as it had the least damage. right hand less sensitivity in the index an middle finger. thumb is fine now. both hands done at the same time. strength seems to be fine in both. great hand specialist prep took longer than the cutting. done with a local, no knock out.

right hand may never come back to normal as far as sensitivity. but Dr. says give it a year maybe, maybe not. good luck with yours.
