I was wondering if it is possible for a business to have a 800 (or 888 - 866- 877) toll-free number will is accessible in the USA for a dominican number ? I know that it is possible in Costa Rica.

Second, is it possible to have access to a Florida cellphone services which works in the DR ?

Thank you.

Apparently it is possible. When I call Dell Computer about a warranty problem, I call from the DR on a toll free 800 number. To other numbers, I dial 880 and pay for the call.

I've been told, though don't know for certain, that you can get an 800 number that is valid within a region, or within the country, or internationally.

Be aware....

When you dial an 800 number from DR you pay higher rates than a regular long distance rate (around RD$10.00 a minute) and yes, it's possible to have a 800 number that works from the US to DR, call the phone company (either CODETEL or Tricom), I've seen it on local TV shows which are aired in the US, they have an 800 number for people to call into the show.
