An Ottawa businessman driving home from work gets stuck in a traffic jam. Nothing is moving. He sees a police officer walking back and forth, rolls down his window and asks what's the big holdup.
"The prime minister is depressed " says the cop. " The leadership race, trade gripes, softwood lumber, he's worried about Bush, the border and Iraq. He stopped his limo in the street and sat down, refusing to move. Threatens to douse himself with gasoline and light a match.
" Good grief!" cries the motorist.
"He says the country hates him," nods the policeman.
"He can't quit yet because he hasn't a big enough pension. So I'm walking round taking up a collection for the PM"
"Really!" says the driver. "how much have you collected so far?"
"Only about a hundred litres, but a lot of folks are still siphoning."
