Going to have a problem with AA too
AA Drops Inflight Fee But Charges For Headsets
Aviation Daily 09/25/2002
American, trying to differentiate itself from rivals while cutting costs, this fall plans to offer complimentary inflight entertainment for customers on all audio- or video-equipped flights systemwide.
The service is only free, however, to passengers if they bring their own audio headsets onboard the flight. AA will charge passengers $2 if they want to buy a reusable headset from the airline. Starting Nov. 1, AA's $5 entertainment charge will be eliminated on all flights within the continental U.S., as well as to Canada, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. AA is not making any change to its international policy, which already provides free inflight entertainment. The airline's premium-class customers will still get free inflight entertainment on all properly equipped flights. "This change will allow us to greatly reduce headset distribution costs while continuing to focus on services our customers tell us add value," said Veronica Lopes, managing director-inflight products.
