Hello,

Could anyone tell me how frequent and how prolonged are black-outs in the city of Santiago? I've been there about 4 times and have never experienced one. I always read of problems with cuts in the electricity supply in the capital Santo Domingo, and have also heard of protests in some sectors of Santo Domingo. But I haven't seen any complaints from Santiago residents. Any comments will be appreciated. Thank you.

Depends

Blackouts depend on which "sector" you're living in. There's never a blackout in my aunt's house.. yet a block away in her friend's house, there's never electricity.
It totally depends on the sector. Same goes for the rest of the country :)

As long as the Smith Enron plant is on-line, the electricity is pretty good, most of the time
