Exotic Car Kits

I was dropping a friend off at the airport when I noticed a 1945 mercedes classic on display on the mezanie floor. On the display there was a phone number of a company based in florida that claims to have experience shipping the unassembled kits to any country in the world. What are the rules of the DR in regards to importing kit cars? How would it be taxed?

A Kit car is just parts to convert a current car to another type. So you would first need to own a vehicle in the DR. These kits usually use Old VW beetle or Ford Mustang Chasis as donner vehicles.
So you would not be importing a car but a box of parts. Which kit car manufacturer are you looking at? Some are better than others. Some you just need basic skills to put together others need a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT!
