British Ambassador Andy Ashcroft double-checked into the possibility of a direct flight from London to Santo Domingo on British Airways for DR1 readers. He writes to tell us that the situation remains the same as to this date.

"British Airways sells tickets London/Santo Domingo in a codeshare arrangement with Iberia, via Madrid. There are no direct scheduled flights from London to Santo Domingo."

So, sorry, but British Airways does not have Santo Domingo in their plans for next year.
