Re: spanish book

Hi. Has anyone ever heard of a book called "El Espa?ol de la Rep?blica Dominicana" by Arturo Jimenez? And if you have heard of it where can I get it?
Thanks.

As a matter of fact I have. It is a prize winning work on the different sounds of the Spanish spoken here. Arturo was a linguistics guy at my university for a good time. He and I did some work in the Samana Peninsula way back when. I do not know if the book is in print but if you will e-mail me, I will ask tomorrow at the university...

Edited to add: I just called my department head who was Arturo's department head way back when...He said that the Secretary of Education did a new edition about 4 or 5 years ago. Also the Editora La Trinitaria has access to that work. I'll ask around if anyone has a copy..
