Can anyone tell me if it is the same time in the DR as New York, or is the DR 1 hour ahead of New York.

Thanks

Since you set the clocks back last Sunday, you have been an hour behind the DR.

DR is on Atlantic Standard Time, year round. The same time zone as the maritime provinces of Canada except Newfoundland, except they observe DST and the DR does not ( neither do Arizona or Saskatchewan Canada FYI).

So when we "spring forward" to DST in April, we are the same time as the DR (that's "we" in the Eastern Time Zone). When we "fall back" in October , they are one hour ahead.

If you look at AA's schedules you will see the flights leave a little bit later. And they all arrive a little bit later as well. The old 1:44 p.m. arrival from MIA is now 2:51 p.m. and the 9:38 a.m. to MIA leaves at 10:10 a.m.
