Last November 5, 2002, in Massachussetts there was a new law passed because of so many people who voted in favor of this law. This law was that we will no longer have bilingual education in this state. Teachers will be punished if they are caught teaching in other language that is no english with being fired and their license being revoked for five years. Children/newcomers will have only one year to learn english, in order to go to schools.

What will happen to those children who will not be able to learn after one year of english? what would they have to do if they do not understand something and ask the teachers to explain in spanish/chinese? what will happen to those teachers who will explain to them in creole? And if they are fired, what will become of them?

Do not let this happen in your state, disregarding where you are from, we have to fight back and advocate for our rights!!!!
