I know this forum is for fun stuff but I was watching the news and saw all the people that gathered for this painful event my prayers will go to all the families that lost loved ones ....

Flight 587
Today in Colon Park in Zona Colonial. There were drummers, people dancing and many Dominican flags waving. As I understood it was celebration for the downed flight. I'm not understanding why it was like a party. But they had t shiorts on ..my spanish is bad..but it seemed to me the shirts said something like americas united. Can anyone explain what this was?
Yesterday's American Airline flight 635 from JFK to Santo Domingo was cancelled when the aircraft made an emergency landing after "loud and excessive" vibrations began about an hour after take-off. Never a pleasant experience, it must have been yet more unnerving on the flight 587 anniversary.
