Hello All,

I have recently enjoyed the best holiday of my life in the Dominican. I am a pro musician from Scotland and I want to find some Merengue Music Charts to begin a traditional band.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Here is my help...

I cannot suggest charts, but I will suggest some names for your band and some other things.

1)Here are some names for the band: Jojocho y Los Merengueros de Escocia, Los Sabrosos de Hillbilly, MerengueQueen, Mondongo Escoces, Petakascotia y los Bailarines con Falda, El AZB Del Merengue, and in my honor Golo y sus Chupacrabras.

2)You need no real music to play merengue. Its even easier to write merengue songs. Just Think, the most popular songs of the last two years only had two or three words.

a) La Vaca by none other than Malafe.
b)Kulitaki by another Scotish man To?o Rosario, who wears clothes made in Scotland but a bit longer.
c)Olla- Ay que olla, ay que olla!!!

and now with have Yokulitukula by your favorite Scottsman To?o Rosario.

Me? Sabroso? Come on, Golo....

MCI has Merengue music in their files
The most traditional music from the 30s and 40 and 50s is now in the public domain. Vocals are a wee bit hard, but at least the Scots can trill their "rrrs' ....
