George's thread sparked this question up for moi.

say they arrest you for drugs... then what?
can you use the fact that you're not a dominican citizen to avoid being arrested?

just wondering
(this also relates to the little incidence my friend had on the beach that night... if anyone remembers)

Lee!

Lee-lee it has been said in past threads that it would be easier to get out of a murder rap than a drug related one. Doesn't matter what country you're from.

Do the police in Canada ignore breaking the law because the law breaker is a foreigner? Gracias a Dios they don't in the US, or any place else that I know.

The fact that you asked the question makes me think Canada might be a good country to move to if you are a criminal.

Geez.....did she even think before she asked it!? NOT!!
I wonder if she's blond? She's definitely never heard "ignorance of the law is NO defence".
Lee-lee it is up to you to learn and obey the laws of the country you are in because if you break any of them you'll be arrested -PERIOD.

Lee-Lee you have 150 posts and I don't think you have asked or contributed anything of value in 5 of them.

Ask questions that are real (e.g. where you do not know the answer already) and if you ever get to DR and ever learn anything there, answer others to assist them, using your experience. The whole point of this board.

Do people in Canada not get arrested if they are drug dealers or murderers or robbers because they don't happen to live here? Of course not and you know that.

I presume you mean your friend had an incident (incidence is a measure of frequency) and of course seeing as it is an oblique comment, nobody would have a clue what you are on about with that remark. Was he or she arrested for selling or posessing drugs?

P.S. You can watch "Bangkok Hilton" or "Midnight Express" to get your answer.

Geez, don't encourage her ricktoronto. She doesn't need much to add another 25 posts to her total.

big fat. WHATEVER!!!

talk about a bunch of uptight losers! ricktoronto... please don't question the content of my knowledge. if you have something valuable to say (like anna)... go ahead, otherwise keep your bitter and miserable sad ass voices to yourself. if you think answering in such a childlike way upsets me... think again. on the contrary, makes the negative losers that you so very well show yourselves to be even more pathetic.

at times like these i don't enjoy the board at all.

it seems that ricktoronto is miserable and unhappy in life since he's such a major pessimist. question for you... is the cup half empty or half full??? you ask me to contribute something to the board?? How the fuC$ can i if i don't know anything about the dominican you dumb dim wad?!!! how about you getting on some antidepressant and taking a lighter view on life... since negativity is all YOU ever contriubte to this board.

REASON i was wondering this question..... to all those wondering... OF COURSE i understand if you break the law you pay the consequences. thank you for wondering how dumb i was... but that is NOT what i meant.

From what I understand, and from what I hear 'around', countries such as the Dominican, or Mexico could supposedly arrest you for something quite minute... which according to north american justice... would probably give you a colourful ticket in the absence of interrogation.
ie: possession of an x amount of marijuana could give you a slap on the wrist in canada... but that is not the case in the dominican. obviously we have a difference of judicial systems... and that is the scope i wanted to get into.

SO.... to all those butt heads that couldn't understand my question... i will not die of heartache if i never hear your rotten, silly and pathetic remarks again. of course, being the morons that you are, and having the low confidence that you do... (AZB AND RICKTORONTO ESPECIALLY!!)... you will probably respond in a heated comeback just to further belittle me (attempt to belittle, that is)in an effort to feel better about your silly ass selves.

Now now, Lee-Lee,

when you grow up in a few years, maybe when you reach your teens for example, you will probably begin to understand just how ridiculous your posts are. And your insults, please save them for the playground, that's your audience. Be a good girl and go to bed now, you're getting grouchy!!

A movie was made once

I do not usually respond to these kind of posts but
Now I have heard it all, this is the dumbest of the dumbest questions I have heard. What do you think the DR is an uncivilized colony
The archives are full of breaking the law and drug stuff, do some searching.

We blonds at the ofise are tired of all the the dum stoopid jokes about us. We
think this is hairassment. It causes us grate stress and makes our roots turn
dark. We have hired a loyer and he is talking to the loyers at Clairol. We will
take this all the way to the Supream Cort if we have two. Jujice Thomas
knos all about
hairassment and he will be on our side.
We also talked to the govner to make a new law to stop this pursicushun. We
want a law that makes peepol tell brewnet jokes as much as blond jokes and
every so often a red head joke.

If we don't get our way we will not date anybody that ain't blond and we will
make up jokes about you and we will laff

Signed by the blonds at the office.

I think that won't stop her, really.

I have a question: Does gravity make things fall to the ground in "Dominican"? Or is that law only in Canada?

Learn to spell, ask relevant questions, travel to the Dominican Republic at least once, and quit calling it the Dominican. The people there are Dominican.

Seriously there are some great sell offs (7 days though) before Xmas and you can have a chance to go and experience it for real for not much more than $700.00 CDN.

Then you can post about where you've been, and frankly I think you would enjoy actual experience. Or at least your posts would become entertaining, possibly. Because thus far you aren't.

P.S. read the post under General Travel called "Help Me" to get insight into what you actually asked.

You will note real advice granted that will assist the father of the young man, the purpose of the existence of this board.

I'm actually don't think she'd be able to ricktoronto. I think she's way underage and couldn't go without an adult accompanying her.
She obviously hasn't read much of the board or done any archive searching if she thinks the board is just about having "fun".
Sure we like to have fun with each other once in a while to "lighten" up and "spice" things up a bit but I really think she'd be much happier frequenting "nickjr.com"

I concur

Astounding volume though. I cannot actually recall her saying or proving that she'd been anywhere in the DR. So 150+ posts is quite amazing.

Now how did my name come into this you stupid fat cow? Please, leave me out of this mess. Thank you and have a miserable day.

150+ since Oct. 2002
And as someone said only 2 were worth reading.
Who knows how old she is, her picture is in the gallery, hard to say might not even be a real pic.
She uses the f-word, so she has to be over 13.
Wish Robert would close the thread.

I'll second that motion!
I know some of my posts are "questionable" but I do contribute a lot of worthwhile stuff and have assisted board readers on many occasions. This gal is all "fluff" and nonsense -just taking up bandwidth for "fun"!

Could the adults in the room please raise their hand. Come on you guys. She started asking a fair question but got lost somewhere. I remember her saying that on the last night in the DR she was walking on the beach with a Dominican friend when the police came along and arrested him and not her. Since this was her first time in the DR she was more than likely thinking she didn't get arrested for walking on the beach ( at night I think it was) beacuse she wasn't Dominican. It was her first trip and she doesn't know what happened to him.
Three years ago I asked all kinds of questions before I went to the DR and I was able to go well informed.

But Anna....asking if you can get away with illegal activities in a country just because you are not a "resident" or "Citizen" of that country????
With questions like that I'm seriously wondering how our education system made it to #4 in the recent international study!
