Punta Cana & Cordillera - Worth a visit?

Hi,

We'll be 10 days in the DR, which we plan to spend mostly in Samana (and the north coast).
Considering the short time we have, do you think Punta Cana area is worth a visit? I yes, which all-inclusive is recommended?
How is the Cordillera area? Worth a day stop? Is there anywhere to sleep there (Constanza)?
