Children in DR seem to be suffering daily the problems adults are suffering, if not even more. We hear every day about sexual abuse, child prostitution, death in the seas in boats, etc.
This weekend 8 children died in a single home fire. As usual the children were playing with fire. There was no way to save them with poorly funded fire prevention and fighting.
But just as impacting was another tragedy brought on by another of President Hipolito Mejia's Presidential Aides and key leader of the Partido Revolucionario Dominicano. It appears that Jose Ignacio Garcia, Presidential Inspector in Puerto Plata had a feud going with another man by the name of Alexis Marte because the Presidential Aides' son violated Mr. Marte's daughter when she was only 8 years old.
So our new presidential criminal killed Mr. Marte in a rage and then went on to kill the daughter, only 11 years of age. He shot the child 4 times!!! Fortunately, the killer decided to take his own life, the coward!!!
