Not necessary

They will not be flying to Atlanta.... it is not in their near/long term goals... Why?? Do you think they should?? Any ideas for a code share with another airline through Miami??

They would not even be allowed to fly their own (owned) plane into the USA to ATL or anywhere else would they? Aren't the renting from Air Iceland (on wet leases) or something like that now to get FAA permission to go to and from Miami?

FAA Cat 2

The Dominican Republic is currently a Category 2 country under the FAA?s Intemational Aviation Safety.

Thats the reasons why Dominican airlines rent aircrafts as Aeromar LAD.

Category 1 makes Dominican Republic all free to serve the US with their own planes and own crew.

(PS. As good is Cat. 1 we hope thats arrive in 2003 also reported at Listin Diario about the Cat 1)

The point was if they OWN planes they cannot fly them into USA or Canada hence the lease of planes that the authorities feel are safe enough to meet the FAA Cat 1 guidelines.

So until then, who's lining up for this plane anywhere?

WHat do you mean "who's lining up for this plane?"

One of the reasons that the Dominican Republic has been slow to achieve Cat 1 recognition is partly due to the fact that no Dominican Airline has achieved the ability to Purchase or Finance an aircraft since Dominicana de Aviacion about a decade ago.

Thus Aeromar will be using their Newly acquired 737-200 for routes throughout the caribbean and South America. Yet their main focus is to show American Authorities such as the FAA and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that Dominican Airlines can in fact last over 2 or 3 years in service without going out of business due to poor management and people incapable of running a succesful airline.

Furthermore, Aeromar has no intentions in the near or long term future to incorporate other North American Routes such as Atlanta (MAYBE BOSTON)....

Nice Job Aeromar.
