Do they sell trac phones in the DR? If so, does anyone have an idea of the costs?

A trac phone, maybe I spelled it wrong? (track phone) is a cell phone that you but and can only use when you buy cards with certain number of minutes of time. The time is used when either calling or receiving calls. We have them in the USA. When your time is used you can order more minutes on the internet. Most people use them to budget themselves and it helps make you aware time spent talking on the phone .

Here we call it Orange card(which I use), Tricom Amigo, Codetel has a card, and I think Centennial might too.

You buy a card for 100 or so pesos at a kiosk or store and when it is gone, you can be called for up to a month or so, but you can't call anymore. My Orange works fine for me here in SD. I want a Tricom phone with a regular billed plan also, but maybe next Christmas, ehh?
