Congratulations!...

"Color?n Colorado" is the typical end of a children's story:
"Color?n colorado, esta historia esta acabado"

Color?n is a bird (red linnet), or a bright, vivid color
Colorado means 'colored', as in crayons, or a bright red.

Essentially, it is the beginning of a children's phrase that means something is 'over'.. Perhaps like your relation with the STBX....

Is that what he told you to end the relationship?

A good Dominican answer:...No importa, m?s pa'lante vive gente!!!

(It doesn't matter, there are more fish in the sea...loosely translated!)

Bit more linguistic info. Colorin is also used in some SA countries (i.e. Chile) as a colloquialism for "redhead." Whether that is the literal meaning in the original phrase or if its "red linnet" as Hillbilly correctly describes, I don't know.

On the money, HB.

Color?n colorado, este cuento est? acabado: punto final a una historia o cuento. It's over, se acab?.

Aha! That fits. He used it as a password . . . I certainly wish I'd found this site a lot earlier--it has definitely explained some things that made no sense to me--making it a bit easier to take my crumpled heart & move on! Thanks guys!
