How is the tourism season going right now? It is certainly unusually cold in North America and I wonder how the numbers of visitors this winter stacks up.

I know that predictions were optimistic--has the reality been as good?

Thanks.

abe, reports indicate that so far this season is better than the last couple.

As I recall, you talked in one of your previous posts about the American company Super Breezes buying a hotel between Sosua and Cabarete. I have a contact there so know this hotel has gotten off to a great start under the new management with occupany over 90%.

Thanks, Ken.

Anyone else have hard numbers?

and,,,,has the weather been affected by the cold on the continent? I have had some anecdotal reports of unfavorable beach weather.

Lots of cheapie cheapie packages from Canada as in 700 cdn per week, which means lots of people who dont leave their hotels and have no$$$ to spend.Thats the main reason I didnt waste your time about the enquirery,I think your best bet is to stick out your high season and look here later
