Mr. Guzman,

My husband was informed today, that instead of a Residency, he will get a Cedula.. the reason being, his Parents were born in the Dominican Repulic.

What advantages is it to have a Cedula? What is a Cedula exactly?

With a Cedula, would be able to open an Individual Owned Company faster? less expensive? etc....

He needs to open his business asap.. he will be back next week, but plans on moving to DR the end of Feb... any chance due to the Cedula.. he can open up his business quicker?

Apparently your husband now obtained his Dominican citizenship...also in a few days. I wonder what's going on.

A c?dula is a national I.D. card issued to every Dominican, aged 16 or older, and to every adult foreigner who is a legal resident of the Dominican Republic. The c?dulas issued to Dominicans are also used for voting in elections.

The cedula will neither speed up incorporation nor make it cheaper.
