I didn't notice anything different

In both trips I have went or stayed at Boca Chica within the last year and I didn't notice anything unusual.

It's only one small part of the beach at the Hamaca end. Late last year an off-shore hurricane caused a very high tide and this accelerated the corrosion. I think you will find it started when the two large all-inclusives dredged and pushed a huge amount of sand out of the water and onto the beach to get around the 60M law a number of years ago. This in turn effected the natural in and out flow of the lagoon.

They are trying to solve the problem now, but I have a feeling it's going to take a lot of money and much more erosion for anyone to really address the issue.
What would be nice, is if the hotels that allegedly caused the problem to cough up some money to help fix the problem.
