Hi I am looking for some hotel addresses or e-mail addresses or phone numbers where I could send my resume concerning bringing a tribute show over like the Supreme or the Tempatations for the hotel audiences.
Does Anyone have any suggestion?
Thanks

Laila, forgive my short term memory but have you ever been to the DR yet? If you haven't , it might be a good idea to take a little holiday and see things up front for yourself. Every hotel has entertainment and they work for peanuts. Peanuts= about 2000 pesos a month. I hope someone else can tell you better news.

question

Thank you Anna for your reply , I have never been to the D.R., me and my husband want to visit the place first. My husband does tribute shows here in the Canary Islands, he works for htl and casinos, but the salary for a tribute show like the tempation is good and the show is not just a bunch of people singing, it is well presented, Do all these five star hotel pay local people to entertain, and if so is this the reason for such a salary or are there any international band from Europe or Usa performing on a 3 months basis and do they also still get 2000 r$ ? What about the clubs and night life , is there any place where they have foreigners working with bands or solo/duo act and is the salary still the same?
What do tourist do to entertain themselves when they go out? Do They go out just drinking or do they have a place to see bands that play blues or just a good vocalist that sings popular songs?
Thank you for your help ..are you italian? ...I am!

Most Dominicans hang out in Disco or Car Washes that are sort of Discos just not as fancy.

As far as live entertainment for tourists goes. The Juragua has a few 10 piece merengue groups that are very good. They are all local obviously. I doubt they get only 2000 pesos per month. I also doubt they get enough to make a non Dominican happy;-)

There are some clubs that have live music. Monte Christo has a top 40 band that is called "top 40". They are fronted by a guy from NJ. The club is fairly upscale and I do not know if these guys have day jobs or earn enough to live soley from their music.

There are a few bars that have solo acoustic or duoa, such as Pete Palo in the Zona Colonial.

This is all in the Capital city of santo Domingo. Most visitors to the country stay in all inclusive resorts which have fairly lame entertainment. usually done by the waiters, bartenders or animation team.
