HELP I'm looking to move (for a short term) to the Dominican Republic, in Santo Domingo. What i'm looking for is to rent an Apart-Hotel. Does anybody have any info on which hotels have apartments that can be rented out for about 1-2 months. I'd prefer in the Naco area of Santo Domingo. Thanks for helping

Reply to renting an apart.

Hey Cris,
Yes, actually I would prefer a kitchenette in the room, i think it would be easier and a little more economical if i cooked my own food instead of always dining out. I'd also like if the apartment is furnished with a television, a bed and of course a telephone. The price range i'm looking for is about $2000-2500 monthly. Thanks again.

Is that pesos or dollars?

If it's US$, it will get you a very nice apartment here.

In fact, for US$4,000-5000 for 2 months I will find you a very nice place ;)

Reply to Robert about Renting an apartment

Hey Robert,
$2000-$2500 is in US dollars. Thanks for helping me, i appreciate all the help I can get. As I've mentioned, I prefer an apart-hotel in the Naco area of Santo Domingo. I've come across Plaza Naco but i'm not sure if I can rent an apartment for 1-2 months and how much it will cost me. Are you Dominican, Robert? Anyhow thanks again guys.

ahem...2,500 dollars? Is that for a month or a year? If you are willing to pay 2,500 for 1 month for an apt I am suprised you are concerned about saving money on dining out.Anyway..enjoy yourself.

Re: to Larry

Hey Larry,
I guess maybe 2500$ is a little much, but i'd rather pay and live in a safe area, than save and get stuck with a dump. Thanks for your concern

I know SD is more expensive than the northcoast but you could get something beautiful on the northcoast for 700 per month.Thats why I nearly fell off my chair when you said 2,500.But like I said,I know nothing of SD.

2000-2500US is way too much to pay for one month. You could stay at a nice hotel for less than that. Unless you want something really extravagant, for 1000-1500US you could find real nice lodging. Personally, I could find anywhere to stay in the DR that is moderate for less than 650US per month. If you are willing to pay that much I would suggest looking for a hotel using a search engine and work out a deal with the hotel. I'm editing this post, SID I searched and could only find one Apart-Hotel in that area on the web: Aladino Apart-Hotel 34 H. Pieter
Naco
Santo Domingo Telephone#(809) 567-0144. Have no idea what this place is like.
