I went to 5 casinos in SD last night looking for a poker game. Nothing. Any help?

And I mean REAL poker....Texas Holdem, 7 Card Stud etc...not Caribbean Poker etc.

Thanks.

I don't think you'll find anything beyond Caribbean Poker. Although, some of the casinos tout that they play by Alantic City or Las Vegas rules, in fact, very few of their games adhere to those standards. Even Blackjack is a form of Spanish Blackjack, not real A.C. Blackjack. Best odds are on the crap table.

Im in for sure. I will be in Santo Domingo tomorrow for a week. I did hear of Texas Holdem at a couple casino's there. Not sure where. Did you try asking the casino's that didn't have it where you can find a game?

The casino in the El Napolitan (sp)? had a table awhile back. And they are reputed to be gambler friendly. Seeking ' players'. Ask.

The Napolitano is IN Santo Domingo ... towards the eastern end of the Malecon near the obelisk. Please report back if they have a table.

The El Napolitano is less than 5 minutes away from you by taxi. You don't need to speak Spanish. Simply tell the taxi driver "Hotel Napolitano" (oh-TEL nah-poh-lay-TAH-no). Everyone knows where it is. The Malecon is Santo Domingo's oceanfront promenade.

Expect to pay 100 pesos - special tourist rate

Thees ess so loco, Poncho

Why don't you just save yourself some time and disappointment and play on line. Buy a presidente, click on "spanish" and bet.
Dude, you are there! Just say texas holdum with a cheap suedo-mexican accent. ( lots of E's and S's ). They will understand.

Hell you could walk there from Ind/Maximo Gomez. Just walk down the Malecon towards the Jaragua towards the big Obelisk.

And just say "Donde Esta Hotel Napolitano". hehe.

Don't need much more than that.

Scott, I had heard this. Do you know if it is a limit or a no-limit table? Also, what are the blinds, antes?

If you don't know could you find out?

Ok I went to napolaytano last night. They have texas hold em, just no players. After a bit of waiting at the black jack table. I won 300 peso then the guy there who spoke english said they have a game at hotel naco and got a taxi to take me there. It was fun. 5 players 100 peso blind, no limit 3000 peso buy in.

I am sick of playing on the internet. Plus, the casino is probably the best way for me to kill some time well here by myself, unless i find a girl friend :)

Anyone up for a game tonight at hotel casino naco?

North Coast Texas Hold Em Poker

Hi Larry,

First, thanks for mentioning the game Scott!

Larry the game at playa chiquita is a limit game with 100 pesos small blind 200 peso big blind and 400 pesos on the river card, three raises maximum.

I play there at least three times a week and there is usually a good game going on there most nights. (The only downside is it does tend to start a little late with most players getting there about 10:30 or so)

hope to see you there!

P.S. They are opening 7 card stud there in the next week or so as well!
