Hi,

A co-worker of mine and his girlfriend wish to visit the DR in the summer. He has been there two times before, but this time he wishes to stay in a rustic hut by the beach. He has stayed in all inclusive-resorts and that kind of deal. But this time, they want to be kind of "removed from civilization".

Does anyone have an idea of a hotel that's composed of little huts by the beach (like those whose roof is made of palm tree leaves) where they can sleep and feel happy? It could be on the North or the South coast of the DR, as long as it is in a safe and peaceful location.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I know just the place

Have him go to Punta Ruc?a...
theare two places there that are rustic enough and very inexpensive. One is run by a Swiss-Germanby the name of Wolfe
Theother is run by Paradise Tours and is German run.

While no exactly thatched roof huts, they ar on the beach, removed from most everything.

there are daily buses from POP to Punta Ruc?a.

If you need more info get in touch.

Thanks!

Hi Hillbilly,

Thank you very much for the info. On Monday I will tell him about Punta Rucia.

Is this in Puerto Plata?

Thanks again!

It is but NOT the city

It is in the far western tip of the Puerto Plata provionce. At least two hours by bus from the city. Paradise offers tours there.

Natural Cabanas in Sosua would fit the bill. It is a pretty nice place right on the beach.
