San Cristobal-Santo Domingo Corridor
Traffic in the Capital is a real bear. You will have to consider where your work site is in Santo Domingo. If it is near the Colonial Zone you have quite a long trip by bus. It is less expensive than a car and someone else is doing the driving. You are also subject to irregular or no service depending on the behavior of the bus sindicates, especially the San Cristobal-Santo Domingo corridor because competing bus companies have been warring against another, going so far as blocking routes and bus vandalisms. A car is much more costly, but convenient: you pick the route, stop and go when you want, stressful: heavy traffic, irrational driver behavior, limited parking in places.
