I haven't been in the DR for a year now and haven't lived there in two, and I'm just wondering what prices are like, what with the plummeting peso and reports of some businesses basing their prices in USD.

What are the current prices of typical items such as:

10-lb sack of rice:

Gallon of cooking oil:

Big beer:

Gasoline:

Stick of butter:

Pan judeo (in Sosua):

Marlboros:

Refrescos:

Etc etc...

Yuck!!!

My Colmado just went up! A grande Presidente is now $32 pesos. And cigs...the other brands not Marlboro..are now $25. Thats what Marlboro used to be so I'm sure they went up 5 pesos also.
Whats a drinker and smoker to do?? I'm doomed, doomed I say!!
