This is it, I had to blur a word, but I'm sure you get the idea :)

I would guess they have zero chance of catching the hackers. These kids are way to smart. If the FBI has problems, what chance does the local DNI have?

Nothing to be afraid of

Lets have a clean copy. This is free information and nothing is sacred in internet anymore. If you are afraid, send it to me and I will post it. Besides, its only a matter of time before its all over the place.

All the info in the www is traceable

For my experience one thing is sure

1-It was done threw the DNS of the server not the page it self.

Why? When a hack this type is done you compare the original page and the one showed and you see they are really diffrent.

2- If the person who did it , did it locally he is going to get caught

Just my 2 cents

How embarrasing is this for "El Mandatario?" + chances of catching hacker...

How embarrasing was the hack? The name "Listin Diario" was conspicuous by its absence in channel 37's (CDN) broadcasts this afternoon - - that belies intense embarrassment and sensitivity.

Will the hacker be caught? Possibly, but it depends on how exactly it was perpetrated. Many adolescents would be able to follow the DNS server audit trail. The devil is in the detail of which access technique was used. The trail could end at various points including:

- an individual's ISP account (which may or may not belong to the guilty party)

- an anonymous proxy server (fairly likely in my opinion)

- a public internet cafe machine (another good possibility IMO)

- a machine in "La Presidencia" (presidencia.gov.do domain...hmmm)

time will tell...
