I've been to the North coast in a boat from S.Florida (Luperon) and was talking with a friend about possibilities for business uses of a boat in the DR (fishing charter, diving, corp charter etc.). Whether there is actually any demand aside, what is the legal/tax situation? It's easy enough to get the boat there but what are the costs and requirements if you start using it commercially? Do you owe import duties? Thanks for comments.
