participate in the Opening ceremonies? Was it recently? Or a while ago? I just heard about it the night before the ceremony.

Juan Marichal asked Pedro recently to attend the opening ceremony. I've heard Pedro mention several times that he'd like to pitch in the games for the DR team after he found out the games would be held in the Dominican, but he couldn't risk injury in the middle of the baseball season.
