I am planing to marry my US citizen boyfriend. I don't know alot about inmigration issues, but the fact is that I already hold an US visitors visa. So my question is, which are the steps to follow in order for me to get the residence. Should we start the process here or before I am already in US? Can I go to US with my visitors visa and afterward start the inmigration process? And, how long will it take for me to be granted work permission?

Thanks a lot for your response

My gut feeling is

that you won't have too much trouble.

since we live here, my wife has never needed or wanted US residence. She has her 10 year visa and renews it as needs be.

If you are going to live in the States, I think that an expedited residency can be arranged. But go to the States and see what INS says after you are there...

Good luck...

Now, does HE fulfill Hillbilly's Three Golden rules??
