Buenos dias! I am an American citizen and my wife is from the Philippines. She came to the US on a fiance visa and is now living with me and waiting for a change in her status to permanent US resident (Green Card). We have airline and hotel reservations to go to the DR in a few weeks and were just notified that she was turned down for her visa. Since we are leagaly married (I submitted a copy of our marriage license),will be traveling together, and I assume responsibility for all expenses, I don't understand why she was refused entry. I applied through the consulate in Philadelphia. They have been very helpful, but don't make the decisions. Is there perhaps someone in the Department Of Foriegn Affairs (english speaker) in Santo Domingo that I can call directly to plead my case to get this reconsidered? Or does anybody have any suggestions? All advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
