Just received an email announcing that the Santo Domingo Little Theatre is starting its 2003-2004 season with a meeting on Friday, 29 August at Lea de Castro #105 (corner Jos? Joaqu?n P?rez), Gazcue. Tel. 809 682-2845. For more information contact:

it's true. it's a great way to meet english-speaking people.
there is always an entertaining show of some kind.
the original stuff is usually the best - tennessee williams stuff is usually the duffest.
you don't have to do any acting if you don't want to.
don't know what the subscription rates are now and i think you can still pay when you enter instead, but there are always good picaderas and drinks (but that is secondary to the theatre).

Before calling to inquire further (actually, given all those different numbers, who should I phone first ?), could you briefly describe what the "theatre club" thing is like and how it works. Do they have regular schedules, what are the dues and are members expected to perform or can just be a happy audience ?

Sounds like a very interesting group and look forward to learning more !

Contact Enriquillo Ure?a_(Tel.__562-7154 & 858-5440). He sent dr1 the notice. He speaks fluent English as he was educated in England. He is an architect. This is a fun group, but their presentations are good.
