Hi! My husband and I are planning our first DR trip this February!!!
We are planning to go the week of my birthday (Feb. 26) but I just noticed that that week will be Carnivale (Feb. 24) and Independence Day (Feb. 27).
Since we'll be using public transport while we're there, I wonder how these events will affect things. We'll be in Las Terrenas and we don't need to do any big trips on either of those days, but we will need to travel back to either Santo Domingo or Puerto Plata for our flight on Sat. Feb. 28th. Will buses and guaguas be running pretty regularly then?
Also, is there anywhere on the Samana peninsula where we should go for a good Carnivale experience?
