Hippo's Tailor

I know that we call Hipolito "the Hippo", but does he have to look like one too? Did you see the photo on the DR1 news? What a slob - pants all bunched up - shirt sticking out below jacket! What an embarrassement he is - representing the DR in Spain.

He can afford three new mansions but not a decent tailor? Maybe he only brought his chocabana and cowboy hat for the formal event, so the palace lent him a "house" jacket?

He belongs in the Beverly Hillbillies (and no offense, Hillbilly).

One of the 3 Stooges

The look he's got is most likely taken from the Stooges.
I would say it is Larry,

Hippo is just like all of them except......

I have always considered Hippo synonymous with bad taste. The man is helpless in that regard. Even if advised by a good tailor or designer, what can you do with a size 48 short? bald? bad tempered? short legged? peasant talk? monkey walker? No way Jose. This guy is a walking fungus.

Only Pib thinks he looks good with chacabanas.

But he is not alone. Leonel Fernandez is not far behind. His hair is a mess. His pants are too long. He likes double breateds, but he is made for two buttons. It takes a certain English style to wear DBs. Then you take Eduardo Estrella. This guy should just wear a uniform. Hopeless. Milagros Ortiz Bosch has hanging boobs that have met her belly button and wears oversized clothes. Fello Subervi belongs on a Guyana Chamber of Commerce. Balaguer tried to learn from Trujillo and he learned everything right, except wearing clothes. Suicide president Antonio Guzman was another slob, so was and still is former president and ex-con Jorge Blanco. Juan Bosch looked good with his silver grey hair, but his dressing style left a lot to be desired. Pe?a Gomez was a sharp dresser and spent thousands on tailored suits. His size helped too. But the guy was ugly as hell. He was the best speaker of them all.

Thank god we did not have to see Colonel Caama?o as a formal president recognized by the world and for a long time. He could have been the worst of them all. This guy looked bad in uniform, his natural profession. But when he wore civilian clothes, he was a disaster. He use to sweat like a hog under his armpit and the sweat wetted his shirts, his suit and even dripped over the flaps.

Too bad, because his father, General Caama?o was one of the most distinguished men in DR, a man with a stature, charisma and presence that would stop anybody on his tracks. He looked equally sharp in civilian clothes, if not better. I have always compared General Caama?o with Rommel, the ultimate general, in his looks.

But our best dressed leader was Trujillo. He looked good even in his funny looking hat and Napoleonic uniforms. But in civilian wear he had no match in our history. This guy had a closet repertoire that few world leaders could match and looked the part.

His son Ramfis Trujillo was equally sharp, but lacked the leadership. He was a jerk who had no skills other than being Trujillo*s son. The other son, Radhames was a waste and a drunk. He was hated by everyone, was obnoxious and arrogant. Angelita, the daughter was a fat slob, so was Do?a Maria, who had no manners.

Hippo looks like Elmer E Fudd. What a moron!.
His wife looks like your regular chopa. You'd thinn that with all the loot, they'd atleast have the descency to be presentable.

Leonel is another idiot who looks like a cross between a Diputado/Maipiolo and JJ from Goodtimes with that mini fro look and the shinny double breasted suits. The guy probably had two suits for special party occasions before being co-elected in 1996.
And the jackets and windbreakers they use in our chilly +35?C! sheesh, where do they come from? :alien:

There is nothing wrong with the way President of the Republic Mejia dresses. He wants to appear as a "people's leader" and acts accordingly. Besides, Caribbean leaders have an informal style.....its just a historical tradition....

As far as Trujillito goes, he could afford his wardrobe given what he stole from the nation.....the majority could not make enough in one life time to afford one of his suits....

caama?o wasn't known for his dress or his looks.........but perez y perez and ramon emilio jimenez are (how ironic is that?)

papo (rom?n) may follow in his father's footsteps - sweaty, hoggy, armpitty wise......but he drinks with the best of us.

Hippos pants

I was trying to figure out what those Hippo pants look like.

Have you seen those rubber dicks with ribbed sides or ripples sold at sex stores? Well it looks like the tailor took two rubber dicks and put them upside down to make a pattern for Hippos pants.

It must have taken 10 yards of 72" fabric to make those pants. If Leonel Lirio made those pants for Hippo, General SotoFatso, chief of the armed forces should have him arrested for getting Hippo ready to play "jump in the bag"

Diablorojo, just a thought for you. Money alone does not bring you elegance and style. Hippo spends just as much as Trujillo for a suit. All his suits are tailored and the fabrics are imported from Europe. But Hippo can spend the entire Japanese budget in clothes, and he will always look like dumbo.

Just think. Oscar De La Renta still looks like a famous designer even wearing the ridiculous chacabanas or guayaberas, the worst piece of shirt ever designed. People sometimes are just born with style and elegance. Others are just born farm animals.

Hippo is not trying to come down to his people. He has always been there.... a low class brute.

Yeah, elegance and class are not bought by money......its all about a person's bearing and how they carry themselves....their taste, and how they wear things that flatter them.....An ape ina million dollar suit is still an ape....

As far as President Mejia goes......so he is not the most attractive man, big deal......politics is not a beauty contest....

We havent seen your picture yet and how you dress, likely like the Hippo nerd himself, a real shame considering all the money he has laundered.

I dress better than that dude ever thought of on measily a fixed income, Elmer Fudd is a compliment to that hippo dude.

Come up with a picture for the gallery or else I will have to find one. Rob might suspend me but we sure will have a laugh considering how you have jumped in all of a sudden and became the noall beall sob on the board. I get sick of reading your crap posts,
Rob should put the hammer down.

Let's see. So even though you're in Nueba Yor' DiablaRoja/Joseita what you've just said here is that His Baldness dresses to emulate ... you. And so all of the DR is just a collection of chopos. Yes, you are a real man of the people. Viva la revoluci?n!

With all due respect, a man must look the part.

It is a shame that Hippo is sorrounded by some cabinet members and officials who are sharp dressers and he just doen not learn from them. At least, he should wear what he looks good with.

I can tell you that his foreign minister and former Central Bank governor Frank Guerrero Pratts is a very sharp man who wears a beard well. His public works minister looks very professional with Brooks Brothers look. I only wished he tries to hide the cellular when pictures and videos are taken. There is nothing tackier than seeing officials in video talking with cell phones, or smoking.

Although a jerk and nerdy looking, his enviromental chief look the part. Someone mentioned ex-general Perez y Perez and and Pan Am Games chief General Ramon Emilio Jimenez. They are sharp. I agree. The sharpest woman in public life today is Elena Viyella, Conep president.

Ambassador Hans Hertell needs to polish his Choporican Spanish. Is he a Puerto Rican from New York or what?

Other businessmen who look very sharp are Banco de Progreso President Del Castillo, Alvarez Renta, Ramon Baez Figueroa, Eduardo Pellerano, journalist Miguel Franjul,

The best dressed man in Hippos administration should be his cultural minister Tony Raful. But he has nothing to envy Hippo.

Dont ask Candelier to wear civilian clothes please, or his wife!!!!!!

Do you have any actual proof that diablorojo is joseito? I am sure Rob would like to hear about that. joseito was banned, had he re-registered (something that is fairly easy for Rob to determine) I am pretty sure he'd have been banned again.

As much as diablorojo exasperates me sometimes I think you've beeen unfair. There's much to say about his posts without the need to come up with unproven accusations.

On the other hand, if you do have proof of the above, pls. accept my appologies and feel free to call the ambulance to get me treatment for my bullet-wounded foot.

Nope.

I'll let Rob PM me on that one.

But D.R. has used the exact same phrases, the exact same words, in responding to me that Joseita did. And, Joseita's girlfriend, Indie, has posted that D.R. is not Joseita, so please leave him alone. How does she know that? Why would she jump to his/her defense?

I would say only that if D.R. is not Joseita, and I consider that a very slim chance considering wording of his posts to me, that this is a very much more stressfull situation (for me!) because it means that all communist/socialist/liberals read from exactly the same playbook and spew exactly the same words without one iota of idependent thought.

Talk about a bunch of mind-numbed robots! That's the ultimate! DiablaRoja is Joseita. Bank on it.

I'm not Joseito, but then small minds like yours are always spewing misinformation.....its what neocons do best....frankly you and those of your ilk all spew the same ignorant propaganda......

It sounds too bad Joseito isn't around, he sounds like a REAL DOMINICAN PATRIOT AND GOOD PERSON :):) So Indie sounds lucky to have a guy like that......

But as far as your accusations go, they are just that, mindless accusations......stick to the topic or shut up if you don't have the intellect to respond...

Frankly I couldn't care less how President Mejia dresses.....Bush looks like an angry chimp no matter what he wears.......

.....continuing the conversation.

of the other prd presidential hopefuls...you would have to agree that....
mobosch, alburqueque and fello need tailors.
abinader, has a tailor, but it is hopeless.
raful look-alike hatuey has a tailor that can make him look the part when necessary.
esquea's tailor does his job, always spruced up to the nines, won't get him any more votes though.

...only goes to show, unless you're an italian porno star that gets her kit out, looks are not so important when it comes to politics.

(joseito was banned? - that's a shame.)
