What are the current interest rates for a peso account with approximately 200,000 RD pesos? Also, can interest be deducted monthly? I would appreciate any help. I went to open an account at Banco Popular in Cabarete, but unfortunately no one spoke english. Thanks

there is a very nice English speaking girl called Ada at Banco Popular in Caberete. She usually sits at the desk on the right just inside the entrance
she is on vacation this week

I got 20% on RD $26,400 2 weeks ago at banco reservas (the safest bank in the country). Its a 30 day CD.

The rate can depend on how well you know them, so if you have friends here, you might want to go with them to their local branch; it can make a big difference.
