Rental of properties

I live here in Florida and the mayority of my income comes from rental properties in which I own. I do not have any problems here in Florida when someone do not pay the rent the eviction process do not take more than two weeks. My question is how is the process in the Dominican Republic and does it take a long time to evict someone for NON- payment of rent. I just want to find out before investing in rental proerties there.

I have heard some real horror stories from some of the local (native dominican) land lords, including having to pay the tenant to leave after several months of not paying rent. This however was long term renting to locals, not vacation rentals to foreigners.

The law, (like everywhere else )is on the side of the tenant
