Puerto Plata, Punta Cana or Boca Chica??

Hi Everyone, We are back from Samana. If you would like information, I'll be glad to answer questions via e-mail.

We want to return to the DR either next February or April, so I am beginning to investigate resorts now (and put away my pennies!) Samana was a bit quiet for two teenage boys (no parasailing or water skiiing), so our next trip will probably be to a different part of the DR at a resort that offers these activities. We are looking for a resort that is not huge (don't want to fight for a pool chair), but that is all inclusive (boys eat lots), provides a wide variety of water sports, is moderately priced. Also, I would prefer a resort that does not have a casino. I would appreciate any information that you can pass on either on this board or via e-mail. Thanks, MiaBella

I highly recommend some of the resorts in the Playa Dorada complex in Puerto Plata, I would also like to know more about the Samana area. Please send me email, we can exchange stories. psarault@hotmail.com

I have a Dominican friend who is from Samana and who works at the Carribean Village Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana. (She also worked at the Hotel Gran Bahia in Samana for awhile.) Of all of the Areas in the DR the best place in my humble opinion for teenagers who want a resort experience and are not necessarily looking for a cultural experience is in Punta Cana the next area would be Puerto Plata. Most of the other areas although they have some resort activities are more of a cultural experience with both natural and resort area created cultural experience depending on the area you choose.
