Hi All

Me and my wife considering living in DR .
One of our ideas is to buy a beachfront Villa and renting part of it for a families vacations .
I wonder if some of you do make a living that way .
is it possible ? , legal ?
What about tax, Does the government interfere ?

It is legal and the government won't interfere.

As far as supporting yourself on the rent from one villa, that is very doubtful.

Thanks Ken

I consider it as a perquisite .
I do have work income that would stream from my home country .

It is very possible. The trick is to get US dollars for your rental!
Even at $500 US it's a good deal and with a $$$ stream from home is even better. You will live good but that is relative to what you are used to and NOTHING is the same as the USA, canada or any other 1st world country.

I do fairly decently renting out my condo when I am not there. Buying another place to rent out as well. Email me if you want a way to get yourself out there after you are set up.

Juan, where in he country are you?

Edited to add:

Everyone expects to pay in Dollars. No problem there.

I always collect in US.
