Estrella del Mar

yes, it's true. Estrella de Mar is closed since a few weeks allready.
Why? I'm not sure. Some say there were problems with the administration / management, others say that it's closed for renovations. However, no activity (renovation/ construction) can be seen there. It's just empty and very dark at night.

I believe financial problems plague the property and it is closed indefinitely until a buyer assumes the debt, or the bank reposses it.

we were due to travel to the estrella del mar with thomsons from england tomorrow but 2 weeks ago recoeved a call to say that thomsons had cancelled their contract with the hotel. They said it was due to disagreements between the new owners, starzresorts, and the management of the hotel.
Luckily i had already read this on here so wasn't too shocked. They upgraded us to the riu mambo so it didn't work out too bad!!!
