Is it just me or are there no decent seafood restaurants in the capital??

We've gone to a couple but just havent enjoyed them very much.

Anybody have any recommendations?

Did a search but didnt find anything too recent or useful.

Thanks in advance!

We have been down this road before.

And I'm afraid I have to agree with you 100 %! Vesuvios,on the malecon is probably the most "Well Known" in the Capital. It is over priced, and the service sucks. If you go,ask to talk with "Chepy",and ask for some broiled Salmon, when available. It is imported.Ask for very lightly broiled! The other local seafood, and shrimp suck!

You might try "Sulis",or "Sully's",I don't know which it is called!Across the street from "Price Mart".I have heard good things about his quality, and prices.I had a good "lunch" there one time.Other than that,do what I do.Go to Cape Cod sevearal times a year and eat really great seafood until you are satisfied!

Seafood

Try Sully Restaurant

Ave. Charles Summer No. 19
Los Prados
Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional
DO,

There is also a dingy non-descript restaurant right on the bend of the malecon. I think it is called Bahia. But the seafood was first class.

La Reina de Espana is also excellent.
Calle Cervantes No. 103
Gazcue
