What I paid for Jan. 2004
I actually tried to buy one yesterday on Continentals 1 day sale but couldnt get the rate to pop for my dates. They had no way of giving it out or showing dates available so I gave up and am using Freq Flyer miles for my dads ticket instead.

Scott--got the one day sale but in a very strange way--I first saw the ad at 5:30 last nite while in my office before going to see a B'way show. I go on online. Cant do it. I call Cont. She cant do it quite the way I want it. At 6 PM I call Traveller Advantage they put the whole thing together--including no addtional fare for going back to NY from SD (arriving POP). In ADDITION I will get a 5% rebate when I return.

I am waiting on a "good" AA fare for Jan 23. Currently flying into Santiago and Leaving from POP the fare is $477.00 however every so often it drops to $455.00 for a few hours on AA.com.
I am sure it will go down to around $375.00 - $400.00 in the next month or two if history is any predicator of the future!!
I want to save FF miles until I need an expensive DR trip! These prices are from a JFK deperature.

I've checked ewr to sti for 1/3 & return 1/19 on Continental's website frequently for a month and a half: It changed frequently and a few weeks ago it was around $400. Now $537.
Just wondering whether to accept that now and book, or should I wait with a good chance of a better deal.

Continentals prices do jump a lot. Have been checking for over a month- best deal was 3wks ago $389RT ewr to sti- only problem was it is Mon to Mon. Not long enough!!! Finally booked a 10 day trip for 6 @ $457RT last week. Didn't care, dates were important.
