Saludos. I am happy to announce that I have just posted some more of my images taken in the Dominican Republic.
I have been traveling to the DR for the past 14 years and with each visit I am reminded why I keep going back. The warmth and friendliness of the people and the beauty of the landscape provide a combination that I believe make this a unique place. When mixed with it's rich culture-especially the food and music-the Dominican Republic will continue to be a part of "mi alma".
I hope that my love for this island comes through in my photos. Enjoy.
Paul

Buy a Website Somewhere!

I use www.ourinternet.us for our domains. Nice control panel, plenty of space. Register your name for about $8/year and from $9/mo up you can post your photos without ads to your heart's delight. And there's a thousand other companies offering the same services and rates. C'mon! Take the plunge! Throw those training wheels off! Isayud, Walk! Hail Jeezus! Waaaalk! Puhrays Gawd! It's a miracle!

Glad someone able to enjoy them. Whenever I try, the site is temporarily closed.

Hi everyone. Sorry some of you are having trouble opening up the pages. They should be available here on the DR1 website in the very near future.

pictures

I got to the websites easily but they load very slow, I agree www.worldisround.com is th ebest free spot, it automatically makes the thumbnails when you upload and access is quite quick.

Another point, is Paul Gerace a commercial venture, it says prints for sale and calendars.

Most boards have rules against commercial advertising, I am not sure about DR1.

Are the pictures copyrighted? Excellent quality but even I can add my name to any picture or enhance them, I could even save his pictures and edit them to removed the name, I see nothing about ? , (*all rights reserved) means nothing

Pictures do not expand as the webpage indicates also.

Hlywud - I personally know Paul.
He's a good guy and takes great photos.

Yes he sells prints of his photos, and sometimes allows his photos to be used free of charge.

Paul is not a professional photographer or webmaster.
He just loves the DR and loves taking photos.

DR1 will be showing and selling Pauls photos in the future.
Getting good photos of the DR is not easy and we are lucky to have him.

Paul's photographic skills are excellent, no doubt, but I was wondering if they were copyrighted. He should take up photography because he does good work.

It would also do him much better justice to load them on another site which loads quicker than geocities but that is his choice.

There are also means of stopping people from saving the pictures and reprinting them or using them by putting locks on the files.

Only some comments, if DR1 will be selling his prints in the future I wish him all the best in this endeavour.

I am not a lawyer, but as a repeat victim of copyright violation I was forced to do my own research. You are totally wrong, copyright is not the same as registration. His photos are copyright at the very moment of its creation. No argument here. Registration only adds more weight to his claim in the court of law, but it isn't a requirement for claiming property of work. Furthermore, adding ?, or any such warnings is not a requirement.
