camping

im planning a trip to DR in January. My boyfriend and I eally want to do some camping, is this a possible option? Are there any beaches that allow camping? If so, are they very crowded with other tents?

What beach area's would you suggest that is not too touristy, that does not have resorts, but more backpackers and contact with locals?
