OK-now that I'm convinced that we should travel around while in the DR, what should we definitely be sure to do (other than 'shopping" :-( during our first stay in Punta Cana in March. We're an active, early 50's couple that love hiking, snorkelling, local history/sites, meeting people-have no problem walking around in a marketplace, etc. Not real big fans of 'canned' tours but heard that Sanoa (sp?) Island is a nice day trip for snorkelling, etc. Know this is asked a million times, but would like some up to date info, especially including local contacts for trips, etc. Many thanks.
