Is it possible to have a FUN time in Punta Cana?

I have been reading the forums about the DR and everything is about Puerto Plata and area. Sounds like a fun place!
My husband and I are 29 and are staying in Punta Cana at the Iberostar Bavaro in Jan.2004. We have friends that are getting married there, so we had to go. But reading the forums, Puerto Plata sounds more our speed.
WE are not looking for a wild time, but we have 2 children and I babysit 5 more, and NONE of them are coming with us!(yay!!)
So we are looking to blow off a little steam. Can that be done in Punta Cana, or is it all about just laying on the beach?
Has anyone heard about the Mangu Disco?

Here is your answer

Iberostar is a very nice hotel you will love it for sure
most of the client who goes to that hotel are from
Europe.

Next to that hotel is located Riu Hotels wich one have a Disco and Casino (Disco Pacha)

About Mangu disco, is very nice disco is located like 10 minute riding a taxi to get there. you dont pay to get in just you pay for your drinks better time to go from 11:00pm untill 5:00am.

Mangu Disco has 2 floor also
I recomend you to go for excursion also,

Saona Island include (catamaran,snorkling,food, drinks)

go out to Cortecito, over there, are located the Local people saling souvenirs, painting there a Local restaurant also very good
sea foods Capitan cook.

enjoy your vacation and dont forget to try a Brugal rhum you cant leave the Island with try it the else you have not visited. thats the prove that you were in Dominican Republic.
